20 March 2017
publicplan GmbH in cooperation with 1xINTERNET GmbH and Reinblau eG has won the Splash Awards 2017 at the category “Engagement” for the Drupal 8 distribution „deGov“. This category honors commitment for the Drupal community in general. The awarding has taken place in Hamburg, in the evening of 15th March.
The basic design of deGov as Drupal 8 distribution is oriented to the specific needs of the public sector. Inspired by administrational projects, deGov integrates commonly used modules from the very start. This distribution has been presented on publicplans user days “Drupal in public administration” in November 2016 for the first time. Only one month later the first project – “PfAD.uia“ – was realized with deGov and launched online. It’s the online portal of the Northrine-Westfalian “Ministry of Health, Emancipation, Care and Age” to handle the electronic application procedure for the approval of supportive everyday life services according to the German regulation “Verordnung über die Anerkennung von Angeboten zur Unterstützung im Alltag und Förderung der Weiterentwicklung der Versorgungsstruktur in Nordrhein-Westfalen“ (AnFöVO).
The Splash Awards are originating from the Netherlands. Since three years the best Drupal projects of the preceding year are honoured. This award ceremony had now taken place in Germany for the first time as well. The intention is, among other things, to improve publicity for Drupal in Germany. Beneath the category “Engagement” prizes in several other categories have been awarded: Architecture, Education, Commerce, Government, Social affairs, Publishing/Media and Tools/Apps.
