Through its Ventures unit, GovTech Group is investing in GovMind, a Berlin-based start-up that helps public administrations to procure innovations.

The venture division of the GovTech Group invests in roadIA, one of Germany's first start-ups in the field of "smart city". Founded in Berlin, the company combines optical methods with artificial intelligence to create multifunctional data sensors to support public administrations in developing the smart city of tomorrow.

Due to the orderly contractual expiration of an agreement with d-NRW AöR, the former d-NRW Betriebs-GmbH & Co. KG renamed as GovTech Services by end of 2019, beginning of 2020 respectively. Thus, the GovTech group is responding to various needs for support and services in the field of digitalisation public authorities‘ processes and the foreseeable upheavals concerning the technical and operational landscape all over Germany – a trend that is already perceptible and will still grow within the next years.

In the future invoices must be transmitted electronically, i.e. in machine-readable manner, as XML files to contracting authorities. The federal state and local governments will be obliged to accept these invoice formats. The new standard "XRechnung" developed for this purpose poses new challenges for small and medium-sized companies ("SME") as well as for a large number of public authorities. A new and free service of cosinex - xrechnung.io - is intended to help both contractors and clients.

This serves as protection of the civil aviation transportation safety against attacks.

The Alliance for Cyber Security is an initiative of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). It was founded in cooperation with the Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications, and New Media (BITKOM). In alliance with the key players in the field of cyber security in Germany, the initiative aims at providing accurate, up-to-date information on current Internet threats and reinforcing an exchange of information between connected partners. cosinex has been an active member of BITKOM for more than 15 years.

The EU Commission invited cosinex to join their consulting team for a planned (autumn 2017) revision of the Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) code. This revision should assist public contracting authorities as well as businesses or potential bidders for public contracts by being more focused and efficient. The German Procurement Portal has managed to rise quickly to the top e-procurement portal for all types of public contracting in Germany. Just in the last 12 months, more than 150 sites have switched over to this cloud service.

A few days ago, Cologne was connected to the d-NRW company’s reporting registry. Now reports from the so-called “power-users”can be collected electronically, gathering data about the citizens of Cologne. With this connection, 75% of the residents in North Rhine-Westphalia can be polled.

In the past months, the operating concept “Software as a Service”(SaaS) has been customized in the area of public e-procurement by cosinex. As one of the pioneers of e-allocation and a main supplier in the area of public e-procurement, different software models as well as a licensed version for private or public business and cloud service is available. Instead of acquiring a software model from your business’s IT branch or running it through an IT service provider, this web-based solution can be accessed as an SaaS solution without installation and expense. In addition, it includes the German Allocation Portal (DTVP), in particular the allocation management system with a cloud edition. Small to middle-sized allocation placement as well as entry level appropriation files are best suited for the SaaS solution.

Potsdam has been using the Brandenburg State Administration Portal since the company began six years ago. Today, more than 30,000 companies have been using the paperless portal to place their public bids reaching 500 country and municipalities, noted the Ministry of the Interior and Economy in Potsdam.

With the new location on Berliner Friedrichstrasse, The German Public Procurement Portal (DTVP) begins a Germany-wide roadshow from Berlin on September 2.
